New IMAX=Yay! Putting It In Rogers=Boo!
Rogers has one-upped Fayetteville once again with the announcement of a new IMAX theatre.
I’m pissed… and stoked… all at the same time. I’m stissoked. I’m pissed because we just got to the point where we don’t have to drive to Rogers anymore to have a badass movie-going experience thanks to the new Malco Razorback 12. I’m stoked because IMAX kicks some serious movie watching ass. There is literally no better way to watch a movie. Unless you count watching one at home… on shrooms! But I digress…
Here’s why IMAX kicks ass:
- The Screen Measures 73’ x 53’
- The Resolution is 10000 x 7000 pixels!
- 1080 can suck it!
- 3-Mother-frickin-D, ya’ll
Here’s why an IMAX in Rogers does not kick ass:
- It’s in Rogers
I suppose I should be happy that we’re getting an IMAX, and I am. It just sucks that they have to put it all the way out in freaking Rogers. Rogers may be where the boom’s at, but Fayetteville is still the place to be and I think know that an IMAX would do far better in Fayetteville. Plus I hate to make the drive.

Well at least we’ll have one closer than….Branson. Anyone heard any rumors as to what will go in that old Razorback building?

I don’t known what’s going to go in there. I wish they’d put in a movie tavern. Eat, drink and watch movies. Man, that’d be great.

Word on the street is that part of the rental contract for the old Razorback theatre stipulates that whoever rents it in the future can’t make it a movie theatre. Lame. I was hoping for a sweet art film house/ dollar theatre or something.

My vote is for a pumpkin patch galaxy. Sorry, dbartho.
