The Manimal Suspended Indefinitely
Arkansas senior forward Charles Thomas must have REALLY screwed up this time. He was suspended indefinitely Monday after the always ominous sounding “violation of team rules.”
This isn’t the first time Pelphrey’s shown tough love to one of his players, but this is possibly the harshest criticism I’ve heard him levy on a player, and possibly the harshest punishment yet.
“As a head coach, I’ve never been more disappointed in a young man’s choices,” for one and then when asked what he brings to the table as a player “He certainly brings some things to the table, but I refuse to talk about him today.” Ouch
This sucks for several reasons, one of them being that Thomas is definitely suspended for the Mississippi State game on Wednesday, who just happens to lead Arkansas by two games, and is 5-0 in the conference.
Thomas apparently has to earn his way back on the team. Michael Washington or (God help us) Vincent Hunter will start in his place for at least Wednesday’s game against Mississippi State, and apparently until Thomas makes amends for whatever he did. A quick check over at the Washington County intake report didn’t yield any more insight as to what Thomas did. Let the wild speculation begin in the comments…

I happen to know he was caught in the Dinasour House…after hours…making tiny hats in the craft room. That’s okay except he was drawing lewd animal pictures on the hats.

Kudos to the Razorback community for keeping a lid on this. If this had involved Houston Nutt, it would be all over the sports blogs. Quality programs try to keep discioplinary actions in house instead of a public sideshow. Good for coach Pelphrey.

That was Darian Townes. I looked him up on the good ole Washington County Sheriff roster last week.. which has a “fancy” new website now. It’s very green.
