Dickson St. Music Festival?

Dickson St. Music Festival?

February 8, 2008 · By the Steve · 0 Comments

Ok, so first we hear rumblings of Sonic Youth coming to Fayetteville, and now we find this link (thanks Robin) from the NWA News Blog speculating on the lineup of a music festival that we didn’t know existed. To summarize, Shooter Jennings, .38 Special, the Charlie Daniels Band, and Sonic Youth (makes sense, right?) are all rumored to be connected to a mysterious Dickson St. Music festival. You know. Because of all the live music on Dickson St. Right.

Whatevs. Sounds awesome to us. There is also a rumor of a press conference on February 21st announcing the official lineup of the festival that will apparently be taking place on April 25th and 26th.

If anyone can shed some light on this event, please contact us or share in the comments. Thanks.

[UPDATE: The rumors are true. More info here. ]

I would always put .38 Special and Sonic Youth together in the concert of my dreams. Perfect.

.38 Special and Sonic Youth won’t play on the same night. And the reason no one has heard of the Dickson Street Music Festival is because this is the first year for it.

Despite my concerns about the mixed billing, I do hope this is an avenue to getting bands to start visiting Fayetteville again. I miss Chris Selby!
