A recent survey of 7500 computer users by Mindset Media compares personality traits and buying habits of Mac and PC users.
The long and short of it points to Mac users being more arrogant, liberal and environmentally conscious than the PC folk. PC users, on the other hand, are “cheapskates,” less satisfied with their computer purchases and buy fewer sneakers and teeth-whitening products than their Mac counterparts. Not sure how sneakers and teeth-whitening products made their way into the picture, but whatever. I guess Mac users like white teeth and an assortment of shoes to choose from in the morning.
I’m not sure just how accurate this data is. I mean, as a PC user, I know that I’m better than all you lame-o Mac users… That statement right there pretty much throws the notion of Mac users being more arrogant than PC fan-boys right out the window.
I’m # 1!
Check out the video and tell us just how right or wrong you think they are.
PS – My next computer will be a Mac.

I guess I am not like many of the Mac users they interviewed because most of that stuff didn’t describe me at all. I have had mostly good experiences with Macs and have had mostly terrible experiences with PCs over the years. I guess for me personally, owning a Mac is not so much a cultural thing but a “this works way better for me so why would I not buy it?” kind of thing.

Really, I like PC’s and Mac’s. Maybe I’m a weirdo, but I don’t feel to strongly for one more than the other. I can’t really do my job on a Mac so that makes PC’s better for me at work. But I like Mac’s GUI a whole lot more than Windows. I don’t really know anyone who fits perfectly into the “Mac user mold” they came up with.

I’ve recently considered buying some of those whitening strips for my teeth. And I thought it was because I enjoy coffee every morning and recently ended a 15 yr stint with smoking, but now I see that it was my computer. Sweet!

Yeah, tell me about it. Like I have a Mac at home, but I also enjoy Jonathan Hodgeman’s books. I hate my PC at work, but I also don’t care for the Apple ad guy and whatever else commercials he’s been in (are there any? i don’t know. i don’t like him).
I still haven’t bought the whitening strips and there is a drug store on the ground floor of my office building… COULD IT BE BECAUSE I SIT IN FRONT OF A PC FOR 40 HOURS A WEEK?
quite possibly.
