Mickey Mouse Says Hello To Arkansas?
I don’t know if this is the most popular rumor, wives tale or what, but a little birdie told me that the Disney Corporation has been scouting land in and around the NW Arkansas area to build a theme park.
The story I was told is that Disney was interested in Arkansas because it is (kind of) in between the Disneyland (California) and Disney World (Florida) locations, which could potentially bring in more business from those who cannot afford to fly. Apparently the Disney Corp. planned on considering Arkansas even more of an option if the Naturals stadium actually opened, therefore providing a major attraction to the area.
The problem is that, upon further research, people all over America think that Disney is opening its next park in their hometown.
There is a lot of speculation of a park being opened just outside of Springfield, Mo., which would put the park close to all of the Branson attractions. One person from Springfield even said that there are paved roads running to and through a 1,000 acre lot and that there have been city council meetings over this particular issue. Another person said that a large lot of land has been broken in Mountain View, Ark. for a Disney park.
I promise I looked for more credible sources, but it was impossible. I have written the Disney Corp. to find out if this is true, but I would be REALLY surprised if they even acknowledged me. Do any of you know anything?

I’ve heard this same rumor for years now. It would make sense, land-wise, for Disney to do something like that. But I can’t imagine Disney popping up in the Midwest for whatever reason.
Although, Party Cove would be one hell of a Pirates Cove. Think of all that booty around there!

I would look for Mickey’s crew just North of the border. It’s all hush hush but I would talk to people who deal with the infrastructure in that area. Disney = lots of people = road / transportation improvements. You won’t find “Disney” purchasing land anywhere, but look at large parcel acreage purchased by LLC’s.
They’ll probably have to close down all the Meth labs up there too. Anyone need a nice bathtub….slightly stained?

This rumor is really, really old.
Does anybody know about Disney’s America? Its a theme park they tried to build in Virginia, to be more accessible to people a bit more north. It flopped. I doubt they’d build any more when they pour so much money already into the ones they’ve got. Disney’s California Adventure was rushed out the door and now they’re paying unimaginable amounts of money to fix it. They’ve got enough on their plate.

I have been hearing this rumor for a few years as well. I have also been hearing the rumor about folks wanting to build a racetrack in hopes of getting a NASCAR race in the area. THAT has McDonald County written all over it.
