Google Maps Street View coming our way?
If the pictures our tipster sent in today are any indication, Google Maps Street View is currently taking photos in our area. The photos below were taken in a neighborhood in Rogers yesterday and they clearly show a parked car with the Google Maps sign on the door sporting the mounted camera that Google uses to make the Street View imagery.
Currently, the closest city to have Street View is Little Rock and for those of us who figured Northwest Arkansas was probably towards the bottom of the list in terms of priority for Street View integration, this comes as quite a surprise.
If you aren’t familiar with Street View, it’s the new Google Maps viewing option that is causing a stir throughout the country. If you thought Satellite View was cool, then prepare to have your mind blown. Just click here for a zoomed in view our state capitol and then double click on any of the surrounding streets. You’ll notice that actual photography from street level pops up and from there you can navigate around as if you were actually standing there yourself.
Check out the photos below and let us know what you think.
