For a while there, nobody seemed to know if everyone’s favorite mall parking lot music venue would even return this year. But couple its conversion to a nonprofit with the help of Majestic Concerts and things are suddenly looking good for the future of the AMP.
This year’s initial lineup is already turning heads (at least ours). Most notably (according to today’s NWA Times What’s Up! section), The Black Crowes are set to perform on August 14th. Other bands include Ween, Jason Isbell (formerly of the Drive-by Truckers), Ricky Skaggs and Pat Benatar. A handful of others have also been announced with even more to come later and even if these bands aren’t exactly your total cup of tea, you’d have a hard time convincing anyone around here that this initial lineup isn’t already a step above the usual fair for the AMP.
Except for the Black Crowes show (which will be available May 3rd), tickets are available now at amptickets.com.
Hats off to the AMP and Majestic Concerts. This is exciting news for Northwest Arkansas and we look forward to seeing the rest of this year’s lineup.

WEEN!!!!!!1!!!!11 That rules. And I guess it kind of fits that band to play in a parking lot.
“Don’t caress the weasel,
and don’t fall to soon.
Don’t drink the blood from the panther.
Don’t take a trip to you soon!”
… OK … thanks for the advice, Ween.

Ween gets an interrobang from me, too. (?)

Dang. Where did my actual interrobang go?

I’m excited about Jason Isbell for sure. If you haven’t heard “Sirens of the Ditch,” I’d recommend it.

I’ve never been to AMP. Do they sell cold beer?

Yup. They’ve got brews for your consumption.

In that case, the line-up just got a whole lot better looking….and so did your mom.
