Joey Chestnut still the king(of hot dogs)

Jul 4th, 2008 by JTrain

Nathan’s Hot Dogs, Coney Island - In a battle royale, Joey “Jaws” Chestnut once again defeated six-time(2001-2006) hot dog eating champ Takeru “Tsunami” Kobayashi to retain the coveted Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Championship. Both Chestnut and Kobayashi ate 59 hot dogs during the 10-minute regulation period. The championship was decided by an action-packed five-dog “eat off.” Chestnut finished his 5th dog a few vomit-inducing seconds before Kobayashi and kept his Nathan’s Mustard Belt. Hallelujah!

I can barely get two dogs down my gullet before feeling like absolute hell. I can’t image what eating 64 hot dogs would do to you. I’m guessing they become really good friends with the toilet in their hotel rooms.

I did a quick search and found that, on average, a hot dog and bun contain 250 calories. So, after eating 64 hot dogs, you’ve introduced 16,000 to your system. That’s unreal… and a little lot gross.

On this July 4th 2008, we at the Fayetteville Flyer salute you, Joey Chestnut; A new breed of America hero. Thank you for eating 64 hot dogs/keeping the American dream alive. You made America and your mother proud today, my friend.

hell yeah!!! That was the best Hot Dog Eating Championship ever recorded. It’s on my DVR. Joey ate seven less in regulation time this year, but the time went from twelve minutes to ten minutes. We need to find someone with a calculator and a math degree to crunch the numbers on this contest.
