Despite having her latest release added to Pitchforkmedia’s list of 20 Worst Album Covers of 2007, an unfazed Ani DiFranco is charging ahead as usual. And fortunately for Northwest Arkansas fans, she’s stopping by the AMP on September 16.
All insignificant album cover lists aside, DiFranco’s latest “DiFrancology” Canon, features a whopping 36 songs from her back catalog and offers what her website deems “an unprecedented look at how the artist sees her prolific career.”
For fans who were expecting more than just a “greatest hits” type of album from DiFranco last year, it should be noted that it’s a wonder she was even able to sit down and compile anything considering she had just given birth to daughter Petah Lucia in January. From what I hear, babies are sort of time consuming. Apparently you have to feed them and help them use the bathroom for a while or something like that.
Who’s pumped?

A lot of my frat buddies try to turn me on to shit like Paula Cole and Sarah McLaughlan. I laugh in their faces. I’m all like, “bro, get the hell out of here with that mainstream garbage.” Then I turn ‘em on some DiFranconator and they freak. She’s teh bomb! I wish I was a woman.
