Do you ever get tired of eating out at lunch? Don’t you wish you could just go home, make a simple sandwich, eat a little soup and not pay an arm and a leg for it?
You’re in luck, bud… well, at least on the eating out part. The best meat market in town, Richards Country Meat Market, serves lunch… and apparently has been for a while. Who knew? So when you want to get a quick bite, you can stop by Richards, grab a delicious and freshly made sandwich(BBQ is an option too!), wrap, soup and even a cooked dinner(varies daily) on the cheap. It’s a real simple lunch and is pretty refreshing when you’re tired of fast food and $8 sandwiches.
Right now, I’m sure you’re asking yourself, “Ok?… So I can get a sandwich and soup from Richards. So what? Why not just go to Panera or ABC?” First off; chill out, I’m getting to it. Ok. Calmed down? Good. Here’s the sweet part: From 11-2 you can get the lunch special, which is a sandwich and soup, for $3.49! Nope, that’s not a typo, it’s THREE DOLLARS AND FORTY NINE FREAKING CENTS! That’s a damn deal. Oh yeah, they also use Boars Head products which are, hands down, the best cheeses and meats you can get. Seriously, when it comes to a delicious sandwich, Boars Head is where it’s at. And, no, we’re not paid by Boars Head to say that.
Anyway, I went and grabbed lunch there today and I have to say, it was damn good. I’m thinking about picking up one of the dinners this week as well and giving that ago. Has anyone else tried the dinners out? Today’s dinner was red beans & rice. Nawt Bawd!
My only complaint: Where are the glass bottle cokes? When I was a kid and I went to Richards with my dad, I was always treated to a delicious bottle of coke. Now all I see are Pepsi products. Lame. Pepsi sucks it. Come on Richard, bring back the glass bottle cokes! Please? Please??

Yeah RMM has had a great little lunch special for a while.
One problem, though.
With the economy sinking, and inflation, RMM has increased the price of the lunch special to $4.29. See, on the menu board photo, its changed.
It only happened in the past two weeks, so you get a pass.
Still, its a heck of a deal.
Their take and bake spinach artichoke dip is hard to beat.
They also sell fine cuts of meat.

Oh, one more thing:
The deal is a sandwich and soup.
Or a sandwich and a BBQ sandwich.
Or two sandwiches.
Or two soups.
Or two BBQ sandwiches.
Actually, the deal is any TWO of the following:
Richard’s sandwich (you pick the meat and cheese and the bread)
BBQ sandwich on bun
Soup
So you can combine any of these for your special.
I usually go with two chicken salad sandwiches.
The tomato portabello soup is especially tasty.

You’re right, it’s two of the three, oh-so-delicious options.
I still only paid $3.49, though. Employee brain fart, maybe? $4.29 is still a good deal in my book, fo sho.
I love Richards. I even bought a hat a while back. Place is legit.

I agree, Boars Head has delicious products. And, have you ever noticed their freshness guarantee? If only they served quality Boars Head meats and cheeses at the new Chick Fil A on sixth street. It would be delicious overload!

If they served Boars Head at the Chick Fil A on sixth street and allowed you to eat these products while riding the helmet car in the parking lot, it would be a tasty/awesome vortex, and you could travel back in time.

Beebs:
What did you get for your other option?
Remember, the lunch special, you get TWO items.
So, what was it?

I didn’t do the lunch special since i was going to eat in my car. Soup in the car just sounds like a bad idea. I chose the weekly sandwich. Tuesday is ham and cheese.
I’ll have to try the soup next time.

I’m gonna give the BBQ sandwich a go next time.
