Nancy Allen vs. Nock/Alexander?
The Renaissance Mud Track, which is located on the corner of College and Mountain is finally starting to come together.
There’s mud, water and even a few tracks zig-zagging across it. Hell, there’s even a fence to keep the crowd safe from the outside traffic. And all this time, we thought it was just a big disaster.
Originally slated to be a hotel and open by September 7, 2007, the developers instead have given us this beautifully carved, gigantic mud pit and they’ve only had to spend $ 25,042 in liquidated damage fees a month for it. Deal! With only one payment remaining, these guys are nearly off the hook. And we’re one step closer to the biggest mosquito farm this side of Shelby County.
Nevertheless, and according to a recent NWA Times article, “Ward 2 Alderman Nancy Allen wants to know when the Fayetteville City Council will get to talk to developers John Nock and Richard Alexander about the Renaissance Hotel“.
Aw c’mon, Nancy! We’ve been needing a mud track in Fayetteville for years. Now we’ve got one right in the heart of the city! Unless you’re gonna ask them when the bleachers are getting installed, we’d suggest leaving those guys alone. Besides, they’re busy being rich and awesome.

Maybe we can name it the Che Guevara People’s Municipal Mudpit.
We can execute political dissidents and SUV drivers on The Square and have a handy-DANdy mass grave nearby. That way we don’t create any greenhouse gasses when hauling the bodies of people with large carbon footprints to their final resting place.
Perhaps we can find a way to compost the bodies of the polluters, as well.
Think Green, Fayetteville.

Naw. City council is too busy trying to figure out how to give THE SAME DEVELOPERS millions more for the debacle called Southpass.

This is a good question for each of the Mayoral candidates– how to solve the mudhole problem?
Coody’s answer gets docked some, though, because he’s had a few years to work on it without results.

It boggles the mind that for so utterly long, no one has asked where the Emperor’s clothes are re this “project.” What are we afraid of? The obvious truth? How many times does the sledge hammer have to land between our eyes? Alexander says “We own it, fee simple.” In other words: “f**k all yall paying the TIF taxes on this so me and Nock get to own this ugly blighted hole. We still get our pics in the Sunday society pages. We got the right friends who don’t smell our sh*t.”
Coody is scared to ask for the truth. Nobody but some “troublemakers” want to know what is really going on, that this all failed 2 years ago when Marriott pulled out, but no one wants to hear that, then or now. Wait 2 months to ask for the truth? Bull-hockey. We have waited 2 years too long already. Bravo Nancy Allen! Bring on the truth, before the next mayoral election! Don’t give these crooks another dime. Let them clean up the landfill they want Fayetteville to adopt. How f**king dumb can we be?

well Bilbo has spelled it out. I guess my prediction about the ‘new crane’ from a couple months ago came true. down to the facts, the economy is blitzed and these guys just aren’t able to do what they hoped to. at least the cosmopolitan is completely painted white now…yay.
definitely going to be a platform for discussion for the new mayoral candidates.
