For Sale: One Batmobile

For Sale: One Batmobile

August 26, 2008 · By Todd Gill · 9 Comments

Thanks to readers aquachong and Jonathan for pointing out that there is a real-deal Batmobile currently for sale on eBay. “So what,” you say? So the dang thing is listed as being located in Fayetteville, AR that’s what.

The price is currently at $110,000 but has yet to reach the minimum reserve even after 5 gigantic bids.

From the listing:

Here it is one of 5 cars that could have been in the “Batman” movie staring Micheal Keaton and Jack Nicholson. Five cars were built for the movie and this car is the number five car.

There’s a buttload of photos of this sweet-looking replica. Unfortunately, there’s no information on how this car was attained or exactly what it’s been up to for the last 9 years.

That’s where you come in, trusty Flyers. Who recognizes the house in the background? Who recognizes the name maguire1229? Who has a neighbor with a bat cave under their house?

Help us out, Fayetteville. Who’s the Batman?

[UPDATE: The auction has ended. ]

In an even weirder twist, he also had the 1970s Batmobile for sale at the same time.

That is so cool! Has the high price of gas caused people to get rid of gas guzzling BATMOBILES!?

We’ve been trying to get a story for the while. I know the owner. He has been tough to get in touch with.

It was also up for sale in March or May, one of the two.
