Local kiddie fight club busted

Here’s an idea for all you daycare teachers out there looking to spice things up at work: Take your 3- and 4-year-olds and start up a super cool underground fight club. What’s that? Sounds like a recipe for disaster? No way. All you gotta do is tell them little dudes not to tell their parents and you’re home free.

Or not…

Two local teachers from Central United Methodist Church lost their jobs yesterday after reports of preschoolers who were being made to fight at the 30-year-old day care started rolling in.

The investigation started last Thursday after a parent reported teachers forcing the kids to fight during “circle time,” according to Fayetteville police Sgt. John Warren.

“Some parents said their children were bruised during the fights, and we’re in the process of setting up interviews with at least some of the 18 kids [in the class ]” he said.

The names of the two Tyler Durden wannabes aren’t officially being released but fortunately for them, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has the latest scoop on how these two can eventually get back into the child care business. In fact, they even got the inside word from Julie Munsell, spokesman for the state Department of Human Services.

Munsell said if the teachers want to work in child care in Arkansas again, they’ll have to comply with corrective action decided on by the Human Services Department.

Oh good! Now that local parents have got that burning question off their minds, they can focus on possibly moving a little closer to the top of the Central United Methodist Church day care waiting list.

I know a guy who’s daughter attends that school. He’s not very happy about this as you might guess.

And all this time, I thought Methodists were a bunch of liberal pussies.

I’ll have to go check that church out.

I would be mighty pissed if my child was there. But I guess there has to be some sort of minor league for the child cage matches up in Missouri.

The first rule of fight club is…you don’t **** your pants during fight club.

Teacher :

Man, I see in Central United Methodist Day Care the strongest and smartest kids who’ve ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don’t need. We’re the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War’s a spiritual war… our Great Depression is our lives. We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won’t. And we’re slowly learning that fact. And we’re very, very pissed off.
