90210 returns tonight. Awesome?

Tonight, that killer riff from the original 90210 series will once again hit the airwaves when the show gets resussitated after nearly 8 years of reruns. Oh yes, 90210 fans, the CW has decided that the world needed another installment of horrible, overprivelaged teens doing whatever it is they do that America seems to find so fascinating. I was sort of hoping that these types of shows would fade away quickly, taking the god-awfulness that is The Hills with them. But, I think that we’re all S-O-L on this one.
So, from what I can tell about the show, it features a diverse group of young kids at Beverly Hills High in “high-drama” high school situations that are wholly unrealistic and that no one will care about. A short promo for the show states that “If you wanna live in the zip, you gotta live by the code.” I have no idea what in the H that really means, but I get the feeling that it roughly translates to “for the love of all that is held sacred in this world, if you’re not a 13 year old girl, you don’t want to watch this show.”
Lori Loughlin, of Full House fame, will play a part in the show… and then a bunch of other people I’ve never heard of. On my way to work this morning, I was listening to Morning Edition and heard that Shannen Doherty was supposed to be on the show, but couldn’t find a reference to her on the IMDB listing. Oh well…
Is anyone planning on watching this? If so, please make sure to come back and give us a rundown, because chances are pretty good that we won’t be watching.

Supposedly TV critics weren’t invited to view the pilot before it airs… which usually means really bad things. Which, honestly, is surprising. I mean, wasn’t the original show like really good and stuff?
