“What’s Up!” launches brand new podcast

September 2, 2008 · By Todd Gill · 2 Comments

The folks over at the Northwest Arkansas Times have launched a brand new podcast to complement the weekly “What’s Up! in Northwest Arkansas” entertainment section.

From the Tuned In blog: “Here in the Northwest Arkansas Times‘ features department, we love writing about music. But sometimes, a little audio would go a long way to describing what it is we experience while covering the area’s music scene.”

The first episode features a piece on local songwriter and Fayetteville native Matt Jones who is about to leave the area after 20 years and head to Los Angeles.

The podcast and blog are certainly on the right track as far as the local newspapers’ need to create original online content instead of just the standard copy-n-paste practices that fill most of their websites.

Kudos to Kevin Kinder (doublek) and crew for their continuing role in helping steer the Northwest Arkansas Times in the right direction.

Head over to the Tuned In blog for information on how to subscribe to the podcast.

Matt Jones is a musician, too? Dear lord, is there anything this kid can’t do?

Good job y’all! Maybe ol’ Danny Dexter can make an appearance?
