“The Voice” passes away…
In a world where movie trailers are a critical piece of a marketing plan for any major motion picture, Hollywood is now much worse off. You see, “The Voice,” Don LaFontaine has passed away at the age of 68.
If you have ever watched a movie trailer, then you definitely know who I’m talking about. No, you wouldn’t recognize him if you saw a picture, but you wouldn’t have a problem identifying his voice if you heard it… and that’s because he’s done over five-feaking-thousand movie trailers and was easily the most recognized voice in Hollywood. In addtion to the gobs of movie trailers he voiced, he also did several thousand TV spots, video games and much, much more. He was a living legend.
I’m not sure what else to say about Mr. LaFontaine except that I will really, really miss hearing that deep, baritone voice everytime I go to the theater.
You will be missed, Don LaFontaine. You will be missed.

RIP. Without him I’d never have my “…in a world…” joke.
