Jenny Lewis and Conor Oberst at George’s Tonight
Just a reminder that there is a great show happening tonight at George’s Majestic Lounge.
Jenny Lewis, lead singer and front-person of Rilo Kiley will be performing, along with Conor Oberst, of Bright Eyes. Oberst will be performing with his new band the Mystic Valley.
Admission for the show is $25, but that is nothing compared to the pain and anguish you will feel when your friend says the following to you tomorrow,
“Holy crap. That is the best show I have seen in Fayetteville since Modest Mouse played at Shulertown in, like, 2000 or something. Wow. That was amazing. Jenny Lewis’ solo stuff is amazing live, and she is about 1000 times sexier in person.Conor Oberst’s new band is incredible. Wow. Even better than the Bright Eyes stuff. Holy crap. If I could only see one more show before I die, it would be that show, again. Damn. That was so awesome. Where were you? I didn’t see you? There were so many people there, though.”
“Oh. You weren’t there? You were watching Wife Swap? Wow. Awesome.”
Seriously. We don’t get shows like this in town very often, so if you want to get another one, George’s Majestic Lounge better be over effing capacity tonight. Like, over-fire-code-dangerous packed.
See you there?

No. No you won’t.
I like a well-packed George’s as much as anybody, but full of hipsters? Just don’t think I’m cool enough to put up with it all. And asking twenty-five bucks for all of it is just silly.
I will be at the mayoral debate at the library, though. That’ll be sad enough without Mr. Oberst

I am going! This should be a sweet show!

Yeah, I’ll be there. Jenny’s new album comes out today, and I’ve heard really positive reviews.
I was told earlier today there were only 50 tickets remaining. The place will be packed.
Pitchfork had some photos of a recent Conor/Jenny show, and Rolling Stone just reviewed her album. Big time buzz about this show.

I’m going to this show tonight but am the only one out of my friends that listen to this type of music. to save from being a lonely chump I’m looking for a few people to hang out with at the concert. I pay a beer or two for someone to be my friend there. email me ibjohn85@gmail.com

I’m torn between my moderate enjoyment of Jenny Lewis and my adament disdain for Oberst. I guess he wins, sorry Jenny, I’m not going. I’ll save my money for the Stars show in Lawrence on Friday.

Who cares about some wives being swapped indeed. Tonight’s TV was all about Andrew Zimmern drinking spiced cow pee at an ayurvedic resort in India. Guy’s a maniac!

So… was the show any good? Was it epic? You guys gotta tell me. I didn’t have the emotional capacity to attend. Or the cash to shell out. ?
