FHS band sure is busy!
In an effort to help raise money for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade trip, the Fayetteville High School Band is gonna clean up all your trash after Bikes, Blues & BBQ on Sunday. Talk about determination.
To make the trip to NYC a reality, each of the 201 members needs to raise $1250 to cover individual expenses. That’s some serious fund raising, folks. We’re not talking bake sales alone here (depending on which mayoral candidate you ask).
Desperate times call for desperate measures. That’s not to say that the FHS band is necessarily desperate, however, picking up a bunch of biker trash all the way from Dickson Street to the Tyson Track center at 7 a.m. on a Sunday morning sure ain’t no bikini car wash.
To top things off, they should be good and exhausted by the time the first crusty barbeque sandwich bun is snapped up seeing as they’ll be playing a halftime show at Friday night’s football game in Bentonville and then traveling to Owasso, Oklahoma for a contest the next morning. The band isn’t expected to return to Fayetteville until at least 1 a.m. Sunday morning…as in…6 hours before the clean-up begins.
For information on how to help these kids reach their goal of raising $295,000 (besides not using a trash can this weekend), head over to fayettevilleband.com.
