NWA Times endorses Dan Coody

After their first mayoral candidate of choice was eliminated from the race on November 4th, the Northwest Arkansas Times’ editorial staff has gone back to the drawing board. Their new favorite is incumbent Mayor Dan Coody.

Citing an approval of his lack of extreme liberal leadership, the folks at our local newspaper are crossing their fingers for another four years with Mr. Coody behind the wheel.

They admit to liking Coody’s opponent, Lioneld Jordan but their biggest complaint seems to be with his prominent ‘The People will be the mayor’ campaign theme. “Fayetteville needs a mayor who will jump at opportunities to advance Fayetteville, not just wait until good ideas cross his desk,” said the paper.

The Times believes Dan Coody truly knows how to balance the upkeep of Fayetteville’s unique qualities with the need for our town to grow with the surrounding cities. “He’s managed to keep Fayetteville growing while also keeping it funky.”

Early voting begins tomorrow (Nov 18). Are you going back to the polls in the morning? If so, are you casting your vote for another Coody term or are you wanting a change in government?

Oh snap!

Total Bastard

Reading that article again makes me cringe imaging the hystrionics of a Jordan administration and the loud, hippie-infested grid-locked council meetings we’ll have.

I mean they’ll be even WORSE than they already are.

These uber-left hippies rallying behind Jordan don’t speak for the majority of Fayetteville. They try to, by being louder than everybody else, but they don’t.

Jordan is their ultimate pander-bear (THANKS PAUL TSONGAS1!).

Change, please

Damned hippie police and firefighters, wanting to work under an honest mayor. Sheesh, you’d think they’d grow up and get a real job like TB.
I’m voting for Lioneld again this round–and proudly.
Propaganda aside, Coody is a dismal, egotistical fraud. He is a failure. As the dem-Gazette said, Fayetteville deserves better.

Go Lioneld!

Excerpt from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s endorsement of Lioneld Jordan:
“Lioneld Jordan has much to recommend him. In his eight years as alderman, he’s never missed a city council meeting. He’s held monthly meetings in his ward to stay in touch with those who elected him to the city council. Known for his open approach, he listens to all. Even when he disagrees, he’s straightforward enough to explain why. He takes the time to master the difficult issues that come before a city council, and he’s been willing to admit he was wrong when he’s decided to change his mind.”
