Staff Pick’ems: UA vs. LSU(CK)
Hey, guess what!?! Our season is over by Friday evening! Thank goodness. Seeing that we couldn’t beat Mississippi State, we’re now in the cellar of the SEC West, not going to a bowl game, and proving all the critics/coaches right that we, indeed, sucked this year — which proves us all wrong. We knew it was a re-building year. Playing 16 freshmen all season is asking a lot. The silver lining — next year we’ll be even better and the year after that, watch out. Let’s just hope Petrino sticks around long enough to see it through.
The really crappy thing — NO ONE PICKED MISS. ST TO WIN LAST WEEK. That means we all lost. No one won the contest. Try again. Losers.
So we play LSU this week, for the Golden Boot. Nutt continued his odd dominance over them last week and somehow willed his Ole Miss team to win. That probably means crappy things for us. LSU wants a win so they can sneak into the Cotton Bowl. We want a win to save face, if that’s even possible. Michael Smith is out. I think we’re doomed.

sg, I don’t feel proved wrong based on my preseason picks. All my game picks might not have been right, but being the only one that predicted a record less than .500 (actually, a record we could still have if we win this week) and the only one that said outright we weren’t going to a bowl game, I feel proven right.

Razorbacks fans MUST be encouraged by that game. They should have a bowl game for teams with first year coaches. Arkansas would definitely be in. Unfortunately they’d be playing Ole Miss again.
The big winner here is Ryan Mallet. He will be a star at Arkansas next year. I saw both Michigan and Arkansas in person and beleive me, Michigan was the worst football team I have ever seen. I’m sure Ryan thanks his luck every day that he is no longer there.
Oh and the Nuttster not only won 53-0 today but his team will probably be playing on New YEar’s eve. This will be a very interesting recruiting year.

You know, Nutt won 9 games his first season here. I’m not surprised by OM’s success. They have a pretty damned good QB and a lot of talent. In fact, they probably should have won more.
Nobody ever said Nutt was the worst coach in the world, just a mediocre one and a terrible, low-down, ****hook excuse of a human being.
I’m still glad that finger-banger and his deaf and dumb brother are no longer residents of this fine state.
