Daniel Gold interviews Punch Brothers

Last Saturday, Punch Brothers played at the Walton Arts Center. They were also the center of our most recent contest here on the Flyer.

If you didn’t make it to the show and are kicking yourself for missing a good one, you can at least head over to the Honest Tunes website and check out a whole slew of goodies that KXUA’s Daniel Gold has waiting for you.

The Punch Brothers performed a live acoustic mini-set on the Honest Tunes radio show. Available at the website is a photo, an interview that includes 3 songs, a video clip of “The Blind Leaving The Blind”, and a complete 35-minute Podcast mp3. Not bad!

For even more, check out the Tuned In Concert Recap or the show review at NWAnews.com.

Thanks for the coverage in the Fayetteville Flyer!

It was an honor to interview Chris Thile and Punch Brothers. Noam Pikelny wore the same cow tshirt that he wore when he played on my radio show with Leftover Salmon a couple years ago. There are no coincidences right. The band was so cool and made it clear there was nothing they would rather be doing than playing extra music at the radio station in the Arkansas Union in the hours before their Walton Arts Center concert, and letting me share the live songs with y’all for download. There is generosity, dedication and spirit of community, which comes along with this music. Very fitting in Fayetteville.

Also thanks to Walton Arts Center for bringing unique music presentations to town. DG
