After coming in a close third in the Fayetteville Mayoral Race last month, Steve Clark respectfully congratulated Lioneld Jordan and Dan Coody for making it to the playoffs runoffs. “I was obviously disappointed by the results, but not disheartened,” said Clark.
As it turns out, Clark has even less to be disheartened about now seeing as the rumors were true about his being selected as the new president of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce.
As of next month, current Chamber leader Bill Ramsey will pass the keys to Mr. Clark and Fayetteville will start to see all sorts of new leadership as January also marks the first month of a non-Coody city administration.
After his defeat, Clark threw his support behind current Mayor-elect Lioneld Jordan and earlier this month, Jordan named Clark’s wife Suzanne to his official transition team.
As The Iconoclast put it the other day, “He appears to have a relationship of mutual respect with Mayor-elect Lioneld Jordan that could become a close working relationship for appropriate economic development.”
