The Fayetteville Flyer turns one year old

Wow. A lot has happened since we made our first post on December 21st, 2007. I mean, a lot. Like, around 750 posts, and nearly 5,000 comments from you guys. Countless discussions, some ridiculous, some not, but it’s been a great first year here on the Flyer, and we want to thank you guys for your contributions here, and for coming back everyday to participate in, and grow our online community.

Since our first post last December, we elected a a new mayor in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville made the national news, and not really in a good way. A new football coach took the reigns of the Arkansas football program.

Over the course of the year, we’ve grown from around 5 readers a day to around 22,000 readers a month with an average of 60,000 page views.

You may also notice some advertising popping up on the site. These local businesses have chosen to support the Flyer, and their support allows us the opportunity to continue to provide a place to talk about all the things we love about this great city that we’ve all chosen to live in and will hopefully allow us to expand our coverage to more events, more live music, and more of whatever it is you guys want us to write about.

We have some big ideas about how we can make the Fayetteville Flyer even better, and we hope you guys will continue to send in tips when things are happening in and around the Fayetteville area, and we’ll do our best to cover them.

We’d like to thank you guys for reading the Flyer and for bearing with us as we continue to grow and change and hopefully, as we become a better place to find out about what is going on in Fayetteville.
