The CAT to begin streaming content
Starting January 7th, you’ll be able to watch your favorite cable access television shows such as Mondo Pazzo: I’m the Man!!!, Democracy Now!, or Words of Peace from anywhere with a computer and an internet connection… well, a fast internet connection. If you’re still dialing up through AOL, you might have some speed issues.
The Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation gave The CAT a $2,500 grant to help them build out a system that will allow them to stream their content over the world-wide-web.
When the new and improved CAT site goes live, people in the community will have the ability to post podcasts, videos and links to their blogs, the purpose of which, according to CAT Director Sky Blaylock is to create a community-focused social networking tool for Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas.
Sounds like The CAT folks have some pretty lofty ambitions for the site… which is pretty sweet.
In addition to The CAT stream-feed, there will be some on-demand and advocacy content for you to watch at your leisure.
While the official “go-live” date for the streaming content is January 7th, there’s a chance it might be up-and-running before then, so keep your eyes on the official CAT site over the next few weeks to see if they launch the service before the 7th.
Best of luck to The Cat while they implement the new site. We hope it turns out to be as cool as it sounds.
No word on whether or not the late, great CAT show “Burritovision” will make the cut for the on-demand programs. Fingers crossed.

That’s awesome! I do hope they just trash the old CAT site, instead of improving it. It really is a mess.
