Last week we mentioned that American Princes had called in to cancel their performance at Smoke and Barrel Tavern due to an illness in the band.

The illness was actually a seizure that bassist Luke Hunsicker suffered earlier in the day. After being hospitalized, doctors discovered that Luke had a benign brain tumor which needed to be removed immediately.

The surgery was successful and Luke is expected to make a full recovery, however, like many folks, Luke lacks health insurance, and according to the American Princes website, “his medical bills will be very substantial.” That’s probably putting it lightly. We’re not experts but we’ll go ahead and assume that brain surgery is no walk in the park in terms of medical costs.

Luke and his family have set up a donation account for anyone who’d like to offer some financial help . It’s probably a rough time for a lot of folks to be considering donating money with both the holidays and the current economic gloom surrounding us all, however, the Hunsicker family can use any help they can get right now no matter what the amount.
