New Years Eve. Party.
It’s hard to believe, but 2008 is almost in the books, y’all.
Almost, that is. You’ve got one day to finish all your resolutions from last year and get started on some new ones for 2009, so if you were supposed to start exercising in 2008, you’d better get to the gym pronto.
For those of you who’ve already taken care of all that health crap, or for those that are getting on the wagon tomorrow, January 1st, tonight is the night to throw all that crap by the wayside and let your hair down, put on a sexy pirate outfit, guzzle a fifth of Captain Morgan and make-out with strangers. It’s New Year’s Eve.
We’ve compiled a list of all the things we can find on the internets that are going on around Fayetteville tonight, and as always, feel free to add anything we missed in the comments.
Suggestions: Early on in the night, I’d say you’ve gotta at least check out First Night Fayetteville in the NWA Mall. Some of y’all aren’t real happy with the decision to move First Night from the Fayetteville Square, but there’s some cool stuff happening down there, and if you’ve never seen Afrique Aya then you should at least check them out at 6:45.
For live music, there are plenty of choices tonight. First Night has plenty of it to go around. Old school Fayetteville rockers Hunkr Down are playing at Froggy’s, the Pope County Bootleggers will be pickin’ and grinnin’ at the Smoke and Barrel, and Fayetteville favorite BDS (Benjamin Del Shreve, duh) will rock in the New Year at George’s.
If you’re looking to dance your way into 2009 (hook up), we recommend Blue Masquerade, the annual party thrown by Art Amiss. Here’s a video promo for the party, and you can shake your money maker to DJ’s Shortfuze, EQ, Beat Bachs, and Bizar.
