Power is dropping around town
As of 8:30am today (Tuesday), there is still power in the Garland/North Street area but people in other parts of Fayetteville aren’t so lucky.
The Maple Street area east of College lost power at about 6:00am and those a little South of there did as well. With all this precipitation and the temperature dropping, there are surely more neighborhoods to go.
We just lost a limb at my house which landed on (and caved in) our shed in the backyard. Anyone else experiencing downed limbs or trees?

Still have power over on Township. The roads in Fayetteville are still passable, but anyone out driving today should be extremely careful.

I’m on Joyce. We’ve lost power no less than 5 times already this morning. It goes out and comes back on a few seconds later. Not really problematic, but certainly annoying.

Power was out here in the Historic District from around 6:00 to 8:30 AM. It was a lot more apparent in the darker dusk, but I keep seeing the sky flashing intermittently. Earlier it was happening in concert with the sound of my power struggling to come back on. As of 9:00, the NWS calls for anywhere from 0.6 to 0.8 more inches of new ice accumulation. Can that be right?

It has flickered a couple of times here in the Garland/North St area but that’s all. Besides, of course, my sheds out back. Looking closer I see that BOTH sheds were hit (don’t ask why we have two sheds. They were here when we moved in) and both seem to be completely destroyed.

The power is out on the north side of Dickson street, the WAC is out, but most of the south side of Dickson still alive and kickin’. I just heard from a friend that the power in someof the neighbrhods over by Fiesta Square is out. Guess you’ll have to catch Bride Wars another day. Bummer.

Ok, first time its flickered all day. Just got back from White Oak station. A tree is on a neighbor’s house. Many branches in powerlines. I’m sure this will be the last message I send.
This is bad, folks.

Hi!
Being from Maine we have had significant ice storms and most recently two weeks before Christmas we were without power for 5 whole days….back in 98…we went for two weeks without power. It even took down radio towers that time.
They are more destructive then you might think.
When we had the one a few months ago, I jumped out of bed at 4am thinking I had heard a gunshot when the first tree fell in my back yard.
Downright scary when those limbs start breaking off!
Hope you have batteries, candles, and heat…take care of each other and I hope you don’t lose power for too long if at all.

Still have power (for now) off Wedington just West of bypass. Don’t really see how. I could definitely use a chainsaw and a few able-bodied laborers…citizenship optional. Just look for the drunk guy passed out on La Salle with his face frozen to the curb.

It’s about 8 am Wednesday morning and I have been without power since 10 am Tuesday. Craziness. But iPhone and gas fireplace and stove have made it livable and fun. Loren Circle, Fayetteville.
