UARK Bowl open for chillin’
The UARK Bowl on Dickson Street has become pretty well known as a destination for weddings, events, and concerts, and starting tonight, they are hoping to become a destination for regular chillaxing as well.
The Lounge at the UARK Bowl will be open to the public on Wednesday and Friday of this week from 5pm – 2am, and any night between Wednesday and Saturday when there isn’t an event scheduled. They’ve put in some new furniture, and the huge room also has an abundance of seating as well, which is pretty rare for a bar on Dickson Street. Another plus for the UARK Bowl; it’s non-smoking.

we may still work out the dinner and a movie idea. at this time, it isn’t the main push. do you think people would support that idea? dinner and a movie at the UARK? thoughts?

Not at this location.
A big part of the whole “dinner and a movie” experience is going to an actual old theater, or a new one that is built for that purpose that is designed like an old theater.
Its about going to a theater and having a cocktail, not sitting in a big open flat floored room with a projector screen on a wall.
I like the idea, but unless it happens at the old Uark Theater or someone builds anew, I don’t think it will ever become a cool attraction.

The dinner and a movie event we will be doing will be much different than what was there before. We have access to a very large screen as well as a 6400 lumen hi-def projector. We will play classics with the dinner themed after the movie. Of course the floor is flat, but the size of the screen as well as the set up of the tables will make a big difference. I am confident you will not be disappointed in this event. It would not be every night. Once a month at most.
