Flyer Inbox: What happened to Gypsy?

  • by Todd Gill, Flyer Staff
    on May 28, 2009 at 9:53 am

From time to time, we get questions in our e-mail inbox that we just can’t answer. Sometimes it’s because we just don’t know. Sometimes it’s because we’re too young (or old) to know. And sometimes it’s because we’re busy popping wheelies.

Maybe you can help?

Subject: An old band from Fayetteville…
Date: May 25, 2009 1:16:35 AM CDT

Question: In the early 90′s there was a band called “Gypsy.” It was a guy and girl, Jay and Tyler, I think. Do you have any idea what happened to them? They played George’s Majestic a lot. Thanks.

So what do you say, Fayetteville? Got the answer? If so, let us know in the comments section. If you have a question you’d like answered, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Ha Ha, Jay here. Me and Tyler are both in Nashville, Tennessee. We’re playing a few gigs here and there in Nashville and Knoxville under the name ‘Cheatam County’.

I landed in Nashville because I got a wild hair to go back to school a couple of years ago. I’m majoring in Political Science, so they let me intern with a state representative for the last few months. Now they’ve hired me for the summer to work here at the capitol.

I’ll never forget all the good times we had playing in Fayetteville. I’m glad somebody out there is curious about where we are now. Thanks for asking!

You can look up ‘Cheatham County’ on myspace or facebook if you still curious.
    We’ll be your friend!

Sorry, that’s “if you’re still curious”
