The seat belt law is ridiculous. There is no way a cop could see if you are wearing a seat belt. Even if they have you pulled over and you are wearing one they can still claim you weren't wearing it when they saw you. I have been to court for that very thing. It's just an excuse so they can pull over anyone for any reason and annoy them.

The funny thing about it is that you can legally ride a motorcycle with no seat belt OR helmet. Oh, and you mention making sure the kids are buckled in, but there is no option for that on school busses! I've heard that there is an arguement that no seat belts on busses is safer, but seat belts are on lots of other busses. How ridiculous!

I find it really annoying that they're making not wearing your seat belt a primary offense. It's a personal choice and shouldn't be legislated. Of course, I completely agree with laws that require adults to ensure that children are properly buckled up and in the right car seat or booster seat. But for adults, it's a personal decision.

For the record, I always wear my seat belt. 'Cause that's how I roll.
