Early voting for millage election begins Tuesday

The Fayetteville School District is seeking a 4.9-mill property tax increase to fund construction of a brand new Fayetteville High School and early voting for the millage election begins today.

The official election day is September 15, but registered voters can vote early at the Washington County Courthouse. Keep in mind, however, that the parking lot is currently closed due to construction so you’ll need to make a parking decision if you’d like to vote early.

If you’d prefer not to find a parking spot nearby and walk, Ozark Regional Transit is currently providing shuttle service (Route 57) for the public to and from the Central United Methodist Church parking deck and the Courthouse. Shuttle hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:10am to 5pm. The bus runs a continuous shuttle every 10 minutes but the driver will be on break between 10:20-10:30am and 2:20-2:30pm. The service is free of charge. Click here to see a map of the shuttle route.
