Bikes, Blues & BBQ 2009: Full Event Schedule
Believe it or not, this year is the 10th anniversary of Bikes, Blues & BBQ.
What started out as a small gathering of about 300 riders has become one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the country. In fact, you’d have to add a couple of zeros to even come close to estimating the amount of people that the event brings in these days.
Things officially kick off this Wednesday, September 23 and below is a full listing of events to expect. If you’re looking for the music schedule, click here.

@Informed voter- The drawing is on Saturday, Sept. 26 and tickets can be bought here. I’m not exactly sure where they’re drawing the winner, though.

Thanks Todd
I checked with the director (Sarah Eldridge) and she says the drawing will be in front of the WAC on the porch, they will also be selling chances right up til the drawing. Even if you don’t like BBB the tickets go to a great cause.
Who knows, you might even win a motorcycle!

I’d like to know how the new Dickson Street Inn got a half block’s worth of formerly public parking given to them overnight without so much as a “boo” of publicity.

yrfuneralmytrial…I noticed that when I was down there this weekend. I agree with you that it seems odd that there was no public comment. I guess in some situations the city can just do it. In all fairness, one space was marked off for the fire zone, and it looks like the inn got three spaces, which doesn’t strike me as unreasonable for a ten room inn. People staying at the inn are going to eat, drink, and shop on Dickson St so the bars, restaurants and shops should benefit. It’ll probably work out best for everybody in the long run. If the city wants to permit an inn on Dickson St, then it goes hand in hand that you’ve got to allow them some space for a loading zone for their customers, etc. You can’t have an omelet without breaking eggs.

I hate to bust your bubble, but those “Public Parking” behind the Dickson St. Inn are not owned by the city. The owner has made those public parking for a fee which he recieves in parking tolls. If he chooses to close them, rent them to someone else, or change prices, etc. That is hos porigative since it is private property.

I always wondered how to spell porigative. Now I know.

@ Mark: I hate to bust YOUR bubble but we aren’t referring to the paid lot behind the Inn. We’re talking about the formerly free, open to the public on-street parking. So, in this round of internet “I told you so”, you lose.
