To-do: Tuesday 10/6

Live music opportunities are nearly non-existent tonight. If you’re not into jazz or dinner-n-music, you’re going to have to get creative.

In other words, you can either turn up the stereo or make some music of your own, either literally or through the use of a video game console.

Grunge fans should consider the new Alice in Chains 5-pack for Rock Band while all you indie rockers might wanna check out Guitar Hero 5 which includes tracks by My Morning Jacket, Elliott Smith and Sunny Day Real Estate.

Or you could forget about music and head over to Giffels Auditorium inside Old Main on the UA Campus. Stephen Elliott, author of seven books including The Adderall Diaries: A Memoir of Moods, Masochism & Murder, will read from his work at 8:00 pm.

Elliott is here as the visiting writer with the University of Arkansas Programs in Creative Writing and Translation. The event is free and open to the public.

The full (and tiny) list:

US Pizza Co: Effron & The Sticker Freaks
Teatro Scarpino: Live jazz
Herman’s Ribhouse: Bob Wist
Old Main / Giffels Auditorium: Stephen Elliott reading 8pm

As always, if we’ve left something out, please let us know.
