First $100,000 lottery winner jailed

40/29 reports that Joseph Pierce of Van Buren, the first $100,000 winner of the Arkansas lottery, is now serving the remainder of a 10-day jail sentence on charges of loitering and indecent exposure.

According to a police report, Pierce is said to have been found in possession of methadone and morphine.

Pierce, 34 bought the winning ticket on Sunday at a convenience store where he works. After taxes, he’ll take home about $75,000.
