Arkansas Lottery becomes self-sufficient

Arkansas Business is reporting that the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has now reached self-sufficiency.

The lottery, which began selling tickets less than a month ago on Sept. 28, has written the check to repay the money it borrowed from the state.

Initially, the lottery started with just four scratch-off games. Another four instant-win games will be launched tomorrow, Oct. 20., with a total of about 24 games expected to be available eventually.

Powerball is set to begin next week.
