Annual Trick or Treat on the Square set for Oct. 30

The Fayetteville Visitors Bureau will host the 8th Annual Trick or Treat on the Square from 3-5 pm Friday, Oct. 30 on the downtown square.

The annual event invites children to receive candy from merchants surrounding the square as well as participate in carnival games and a pet costume contest.

According to Group Tour Manager Julie Pennington, around 1,200 children attended last year’s event and the Visitors Bureau is expecting an even higher turnout this year due, in part, to the addition of the first-ever window decorating contest.

Merchants are being encouraged to decorate their windows in a Halloween theme for the children. Windows will be judged on Oct. 29.

Parking will be free in the Town Center parking deck for the duration of the event.

For questions or more information, contact Julie at the Visitors Bureau at 521-5776.

Cutest costume last year was a little boy dressed at a UPS guy, he collected his loot in an open cardboard box….brilliant for treating at businesses.
