For a while now, we’ve been trying to figure out an informal way to post brief notes, site ideas, commentary, questions, contest winners, etc.
On plenty of occasions, we’ve found ourselves asking, “What section does this fit into?” Oftentimes, the post idea gets completely scrapped simply because we didn’t feel we had a proper channel for it. Other times, we turned to Twitter or Facebook.
So we’ve rearranged a few things and started…well…a blog. It sounds kinda silly to write that, especially today. Two years ago – when the Flyer was born – it was more or less a blog already. We ranted, raved and said a few embarrassing things. We’re big kids now, though…sorta.
Anyway, as happy as we are with the direction the Flyer’s taken in the last year or so, we kinda miss being able to just spit out a few words here and there when a thought arises.
Expect to see some things shift over the course of the next few weeks in this new section. We’ll certainly need to iron out some wrinkles here and there.
Maybe this will help solve some of our problems. Maybe not.
Either way, here we go…

So is there a separate feed for the blog content that i need to add to my RSS reader?

@Beebs As of right now, we’re still including the blog updates in the feed. We’re open to suggestions, though.

So this possibly means the return of “WTF?” (or something in that vain). I always liked that one.

Finally! If there’s one thing I’ve missed from the Flyer, it’s some editorializing. That’s the special sauce for local news, IMO.

@Infidel – Ah, the ole WTF? column. That was a favorite of mine as well. We’ll consider at least bringing back the spirit of that one.
@mpetty – I’ve missed that, too. We have opinions but we needed to squeeze them out of our news section for several reasons. At the very least, we look forward to opining back and forth with the community.
