Special prosecutor ordered in UA basketball rape case

An investigation into an alleged sexual assault on the University of Arkansas campus has resurfaced as Washington County Circuit Judge William A. Storey has filed an order today asking for a recommendation for a special prosecutor to take over the case.

The accuser’s attorney, John Bass, filed a petition for a special prosecutor last week.

Washington County Prosecutor, John Threet, stands by his original decision that there is insufficient evidence to file charges against any of the UA basketball players named in the incident and says that this request will speed up the process of ending the investigation once and for all.
