Art Amiss has gotten big. The biannual showcase of local art, music, fashion and literature has grown from a single venue five years ago, to a multi-location celebration this year.

It all starts tonight, Nov. 11 at 7:00 pm inside the Dickson Theater and the first 200 attendees will receive an anthology of fiction, poetry, and literary translation at the door, as well as a compilation CD featuring the music of 12 Arkansas artists.

The show will include works from visual artists, installation artists, and fashion designers who are native to or residents of Arkansas. Juried works shown at Art Amiss XI are for saleto the public, and buyers are welcome. Participating artists will be on hand throughout the night.

The evening also features a live preview performance of music by Teri Card Heller and her new ensemble SIRËoNa, as well as a kinetic runway fashion showcase hosted by Mayapple Salon with work from local hair and makeup artists.

Those arriving early enough can sample 11-layer cakes provided by Brickhouse Kitchen in celebration of the 11th chapter of Art Amiss.

From 9:30 until 11 pm, five local writers will read from their poetry and fiction at Nightbird Books while videos will be shown at Hammontree’s Grilled Cheese, both of which are located next door to Dickson Theater.

Immediately following the event, an afterparty featuring live performances by Little Rock hip-hop artist 607 and Austin, Texas’ DJ NickNack will be held at Club Fix, inside Willy D’s. Admission (21+) is $5 but there’s a 2-for-1 deal if you attended Art Amiss.
