Trail Trekkers informational meeting set for tonight, Nov. 12

Last week, the city’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board announced a new volunteer-based program called “Trail Trekkers” designed to provide safety, education, and assistance to all trail users in town.

Tonight (Nov. 12), the first official Trail Trekkers Informational Meeting will take place at 5:30 pm in the Walker Room of Fayetteville Public Library.

Those participating in the program will be trained in first aid, trail etiquette, minor bike repair and other basic skills. Also, those who complete the program’s training course will be issued a trail kit containing basic equipment needed for the job of patrolling and assisting trail-goers.

Anyone wanting to learn more about the program and how to get involved is urged to attend tonight’s meeting.
