Red Oak Park improvements meeting set for Nov. 19

The City of Fayetteville is holding a public meeting to review the proposed stream bank improvements through Red Oak Park located at 4600 West New Bridge Road.

The meeting will be held at the Holcomb Elementary School cafeteria located at 2900 N. Salem Road at 5:30 pm on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009.

The park, which is located in Ward 4, has significant erosion problems that began in the late 1980s and is in need of repair. One landowner downstream experiences significant flooding during heavy rains.

The City Council last year approved a $42,000 plan to fix the problem but the project was put on hold and is currently in the process of being completely re-created.

All interested citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend Thursday’s meeting.
