Named after an Australian bird and consisting of a young couple, an acoustic guitar and an accordion, North Carolina’s Bowerbirds are just as low-key as you might expect.

But as sparse as their music sounds upon first listen, the simplicity begins to take on water after a few listens and before you know it, the idea of Bowerbirds being a plain band sinks and disappears completely.

Bowerbirds take the stage at 7 pm tonight in the Union Theatre (Student Union, 4th floor), on the University of Arkansas campus. The performance is presented by the University Programs Coffeehouse Committee and is free and open to the public.
