Arkansas won its fourth game in a row, and Ryan Mallett had another huge game, passing for 5 touchdowns and 313 yards in a 42-21 victory over SEC West foe Mississippi State on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

After an early interception by Mallett, Mississippi State scored first on a 1 yard run by Arnil Stallworth on their first possession. Arkansas then scored 21 unanswered points on three first half touchdown passes by Mallett to lead 21-7 at the half.

Mississippi State changed quarterbacks in the second half, and Chris Relf led a wishbone-style attach that gave Arkansas’ defense fits early in the second half.

Mississippi State closed to within a touchdown twice in the second half on a pair of Anthony Dixon touchdown runs out of the wishbone formation, but Arkansas was able to pull away in the fourth quarter on the strength of the Mallett-led passing attack.

Mallett set the single season record for passing yards last week, and this week became the first Razorback quarterback to pass for over 3,000 yards in a season. Mallett now owns 12 Razorback passing records with one regular season game and a bowl game remaining in the 2009-2010 campaign.

Arkansas improved to 7-4 on the season and 3-4 in the SEC heading into their final regular season game against LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday. Kickoff vs. LSU is scheduled for 6:00 pm, and the game will be televised by ESPN.
