Shortcuts: Attempted robbery at Arvest Bank on Garland, suspect shot

KFSM is reporting that police are on the scene of an attempted robbery at the Arvest Bank on Garland Avenue in Fayetteville.

According to KFSM, the suspect in the attempted robbery was shot and wounded by police, and has been taken to the Washington Regional Medical Center.

Police were dispatched to the bank shortly after 3:00 pm today.

A spokesperson for Arvest confirmed that the robbery occurred, and that all customers and employees of the bank are safe, and were not injured.

FPD were fast to respond and keep it from getting out of hand. Hats off. This must be a stressful situation for the officers and their families. Having to halt a criminal with force must weigh on them heavily, but now I read about the inevitable investigation.

What a rub. He threatened (allegedly, ahem) a teller with violence, then used a 3,000 pound car as a potentially deadly weapon against civilians and police. Lazy, cheating, thieving, violent, and now…dead.
