Cox Communications customers who tuned in over the Thanksgiving holiday noticed a new organization of the cable company’s HD lineup. Those subscribing to certain tiers may also have noticed a few new channels.
All HD channels are now numbered in the 2000s and correspond to their standard or analog channel number. For example, the HD version of channel 9 (NBC) is now 2009. The company says the renumbering will allow for more convenience when trying to locate an HD channel.
According to Kelly Zega, Director of Public Affairs, the visibility of the 12 new HD channels will correspond with the tiers and service level (digital cable versus analog-only) subscribers have chosen.
