Shortcuts: Reptiles confiscated from UA dorm room

December 9, 2009 9:15 am · By Todd Gill · 6 Comments

The Arkansas Traveler broke the story that a baby alligator, a rattlesnake and six pythons were confiscated by the UAPD from a dorm room in a UA residence hall last Thursday.

Two 18-year-old students told police they received the reptiles free from Craigslist and planned to resell them for profit.

The two were issued $1,240 each in citations from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

They got lucky. I think simultaneous possession of a controlled substance and reptiles is considered a felony in Arkansas.

1. Take in all the unwanted reptiles listed on Craigslist.

2. Set up the dorm room to accomodate snakes and alligators.

3. ?

4. Profit.
