Osegueras opening off the Fayetteville square
Five months after they closed their Evelyn Hills location, Osegueras is returning to Fayetteville in the space formerly occupied by Mariachi’s at 25 E. Center, just off the Fayetteville square.
According to Roger Valdez, general manager for the restaurant, Osegueras could open in the new location as early as next week.
“We want to open as soon as possible,” Valdez said. “We’ve had painters working, and our chef has been cleaning in the back. We are working to get some permits transferred, but we’re basically ready.”
Osegueras closed its Fayetteville location in Evelyn Hills back in August. According to an email to patrons sent by owner Jose Oseguera in November, the lease was up in the Evelyn Hills location, and Oseguera wanted to find a more visible location for the Fayetteville store.
Arkansas Business reported earlier this month that the restaurant closed due to a tenant/landlord dispute.
Osegueras has continued to operate locations in Springdale, Rogers, and Elkins. Valdez said they’ve been anxious to reopen in Fayetteville, though.
“We haven’t been in Fayetteville for a couple months. It’s kind of our home, and it’s where we want to be,” Valdez said. “We have a lot of loyal customers there.”

I love Osegueras but isn’t this the third time (in Fayetteville) that they’ve supposedly burned a landlord/property owner and took up shop somewhere else? Guys, great food but pay your bills.

So, ready for the delicious food of Osegueras! Best Mexican Food around! no doubt! Went to the square yest. and saw what an amazing job they’ve done with the new location on Center st. VERY NICE! MUST CHECK OUT! By my knowledge they’ve had some problems with the previous landlords. GREAT FOOD. Its dumb to associate the Fayetteville Osegueras with the wadges owed from the old Bentonville location. Get your facts straight people. Its ignorant to make those type of comments. For those of you whom can enjoy a great authentic Mexican meal! Osegueras is a must!!!

My wishes for the new Fayetteville Oseguera’s:
Homemade tortillas
Brewed iced tea (not the nasty fountain tea)
These things would make Oseguera’s PERFECT!
Can’t wait to check it out…
love great food

I’m very glad to have them back in Fayetteville! I went to the new location and service was terrible, but their waiters could slap me in the face when they bring my food if they wanted to and I’d still eat there!

I LOVE Petra but am so disappointed they stopped serving dinner on the weekends.
I’ll have to try Oseguera’s again but for vegetarians there was very little on the menu as I remember. And Mexican is so easy and good to do vegetarian.

Don’t know where you’re getting your veggie Mexican around here petrafan, since Oseguera’s is the only restaurant around that actually dedicates a page to veggie dishes, as well as uses real, crisp, flavorful produce. Even if it’s not ground-breaking, nueva latina vegetarian stuff, at least Oseguera’s is the only Mexican restaurant in town that I can go to knowing I won’t find meat in my fajita platter.

They have awesome vegitarian fajitas… I have them add chicken and they are better than the standard chicken fajitas.

yea the veggie fajitas are pretty damn greasy there though, however the veggie casadilla is great. I wasnt super impressed with the new location, the waiter was unfamiliar and terrible, let your tables know if they need to cash out at the register especially if you dont even give them a check or check to see if they need anything! Also the pork I wanted wasnt available, at dinner time, come on!
I miss the old crew from the other location, what gives? I hope next time I go there to find the same waiter I had a few months ago, that kid knew how to take care of customers, the new guy we had looked at us for a minute and decided to slack on it, thats not how it needs to be done, hippies tip if you dont treat us like homeless people! we waited like over half an hour, eyeing our waiter and trying to flag him down to get the check. finally I went up to a guy I knew from the old location and was like hey tell our server we want the check and he was like, oh I’ll check you out right now.
but seriously, its a new location, maybe new cooks in the kitchen, I hope next time I roll in there that I have nothing but goodness to report, maybe I was just too excited to have the restaurant back.

I tried this place for the first time today and was very pleased. I ask our waitress what she recommended that was not to heavy, she suggested the chicken tortilia soup:) It was delicious!! Chiken, tortilias and avocados! She suggested to add sour cream and it became even more alluring . I’m glad I tried it out. The place to have a soup! Very cute waitress I might add!

I will most definitely be in the minority here, but I had a pretty disappointing experience with Osegueras yesterday for lunch. The food was pretty sub par, I was especially disappointed in the rice. It was REALLY bland. Also, I didn’t see a kids menu and then had to ask for a booster seat four times before they brought one (after the food arrived).
I was hoping for a really stellar experience, I’ll be sticking with good ol’ El Camino Real from now on.

I went to the new location for dinner on Friday night and was very dissapointed on the service. I am a long time fan of Osequeras and was looking forward to a equally enjoyable experience as I have had with the other locations and this did not happen. It was completely congested at the front door when we entered with a single file line of people waiting to pay for their meals and we were not even acknowledged for the first 10 minutes. When we were finally noticed, we were seated in a booth that left something to be desired when it came to comfortable seating. The waitress got the drink order wrong and then failed to check on us the rest of the meal. The food was just as yummy as it always has been but we also sat there for 25 minutes with empty plates in front of us and no instructions on how to get our check.
There seemed to be noone in charge among lots of clueless wait staff who did not have time to actually wait on someone. I am sad to say that I will NOT be going back until they decide the value of return patronage is worth it to bring your check to your table instead of having you stand in line for 15 minutes like a fast food joint :(

I love the old Fayetteville Osegueras, but I also had really bad service when I went there recently as well. I noticed that this new one has all new employees, so maybe they can try and bring back the old guys if they are still working in the service industry.
