Macadoodles hits a snag in Springdale

40/29 TV is reporting that Macadoodles, who was approved by the ABC board for a liquor license for their new liquor store in Springdale back in July, has not received its license yet.

According to the article, the Springdale store is 95% complete, and the owner was hoping to open this month. After being told the liquor license could be picked up in Little Rock on Monday, store owners went to pick it up, but were denied on Tuesday.

Co-owner Larry Williams, told 40/29 that Macadoodles was denied the license because a group had filed another appeal with the board.

“We learned the Arkansas Beverage Retailers Association is going to appeal the decision again to the liquor board, not to give us a liquor license,” Williams told 40/29. “It’s an association Jim Phillips belongs to. The person that has eight of the nine liquor stores in Springdale.”

Macadoodles officials now await news on when they will meet the ABC board for the third time.
