NWA Regional Planning Commission seeks input on long-term transportation plan

Want to see more bike lanes in Northwest Arkansas? Light rail? More sidewalks?

The Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission (a group charged with helping local government and the state highway department identify needs and funding priorities) is conducting an online survey seeking input on what transportation improvements you’d like to see the area over the next 25 years.

According to the survey, the goal is to use the input to update the Long Range Transportation Plan for Northwest Arkansas, which will guide transportation improvements through the year 2035.

The survey asks respondents to rate current transportation issues, like commute time, traffic congestion, and the availability of bicycle facilities and sidewalks.

The commission is also looking for input on what specific transportation improvements (like adding lanes to I-540, adding interchanges to I-540, building new roads, adding passenger rail, building a loop around the region) you’d like to see.

The survey is open through July 31st, so you’ve got some time, but if you’ve got something to say about the future of transportation in Northwest Arkansas, there’s no time like the present.

There are only 15 questions. Tell ’em what you think.
