ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION COMMISSION
Created: March 1, 1977
Description: This commission administers the Advertising and Promotion Fund which is used for the promotion and encouragement of tourism and conventions.
Meets: Regular meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the Fayetteville Town Center.
Openings:

ANIMAL SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD
Created: April 7, 2009
Description: This board acts in an advisory capacity to the Animal Services Superintendent, the Mayor, and the City Council on all policy matters pertaining to the Animal Services Division activities, and works to stimulate and encourage communication with all members of the community to ensure that the programs, goals and objectives of the Animal Services Division are consistent with community needs and desires.

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS
Created: June 29, 1970
Description: The purpose of the board is to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged that there is error or ambiguity in any order, requirement, decision, interpretation, or determination made by the City Planner.
Meets: Regular meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 3:45 p.m. in the City Administration Building.

CONSTRUCTION BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND APPEALS
Created: July 6, 1976
Description: This board hears and acts upon appeals regarding decisions made by the Building Inspector/Superintendent. It also hears appeals regarding construction materials to be used in new building construction and development. In addition, it hears appeals regarding enforcement of the minimum housing standards for existing structures as specified in the Standard Building Codes.
Meets: No regularly scheduled meetings. Members are telephoned a week in advance of meetings.

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION COMMITTEE
Created: Sept. 5, 1995
Description: This committee works to address environmental concerns, to promote a safe and healthy environment, and to maintain the natural beauty of the environment within the city. It makes recommendations to other city committees and to the City Council on matters concerning the environment.
Meets: The second Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm in City Hall room 326.

FAYETTEVILLE ARTS COUNCIL
Created: April 3, 2007
Description: The council develops and recommends to the City Council policies and programs that would enhance and encourage the planning, placement and maintenance of public displays of art in Fayetteville.
Meets: The first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm in City Hall room 326.

HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION
Created: March 1, 1979
Description: The basic function of the committee is to promote the educational, cultural, economic, and general welfare of the public through the preservation and the protection of buildings, sites, places and districts of historic interest.
Meets: The first Thursday of each quarter at 5:30 pm in City Hall room 326.

PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD
Created: Jan. 3, 1967
Description: Members of this board work in the public interest and speak for the general community. The duty of the board members is to stimulate and encourage communication with all members of the community to ensure that programs, goals, and objectives are consistent with community needs and desires.
Meets: The first Monday of each month at 5:30 pm in City Hall room 326. Additionally, there are committee meetings that occur on a regular basis.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS BOARD
Created: May 21, 1991
Description: The purpose of the Telecommunications Board is to advise the City Council on telecommunication issues and to coordinate and oversee telecommunications franchise systems and use of the public rights of way designated for public access, educational, and governmental (PEG) use in the City of Fayetteville as part of the City’s telecommunication infrastructure.
Meets: Regular meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in Room 219 of the City Administration Building.

TREE AND LANDSCAPE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Created: April 20, 1993
Description: This committee: assists in dissemination of news and information regarding the protection, maintenance, removal, and planting of trees; advises and consults on issues pertaining to the Tree Protection Ordinance; determines the City’s needs in connection with trees; and pursues the establishment of a comprehensive Fayetteville Street Tree Plan.
Meets: The third Thursday of each month at 4:00 pm in City Hall room 111.

WALTON ARTS CENTER COUNCIL
Created: 1986
Description: The Council is responsible for reviewing and revising, as required, the Center’s policies and fee structure, and for recommending to the Walton Arts Center Foundation passage of the annual operating and capital budgets.
Meets: Meetings are held four times a year at 4:00 p.m. at the Walton Arts Center.

WALTON ARTS CENTER FOUNDATION
Description: The Foundation is primarily responsible for administering donations made to the Walton Arts Center Endowment Fund and ensuring that they are properly invested.
Meets: Meetings are held quarterly at 4:00 p.m in the Walton Arts Center.
